With volunteers from both Neighbors Grove Church and Neighbors Grove Christian Academy veterans were honored in several ways this year. The first of which was a float sponsored by the Academy for the Asheboro Veterans’ Day parade. Fifteen veterans rode the float escorted by students and teachers from the Academy. Later that evening began the second half of the celebration….dinner and a WWII style USO show. The dinner was catered and the entertainment was provided by the NGCA band, chorus, elementary students and a special guest singer Mrs. Joy Klenke. Songs played and sung were from the 1940’s era with a little Glenn Miller music mixed in. Thirty veterans were on hand to join in the festivities with approximately 150 dinner guests.
