Prayer Walk at Victory Mountain Camp

WHERE:  Meet at Tula's Treehouse at Victory Mountain Camp

 

We will be spending time in Prayer and walking 7 times around the CAMP. It will be much like last year and we thank all of you who were able to attend last year. We are hoping for even more participants in 2014 !! If you are not able to walk 7 times, COME ON ANYWAY...Dennis has been known to bring out the tractor!

Yes - we know this is Memorial Day Weekend and some will be out of town, but what a great time to spend with God, Christian Friends, and your Family.

The FOCUS again will be TWO FOLD:

  • Prayer for the $1 Million Challenge
  • Prayer, walking and laying hands on the CAMP property - Claiming all the CAMPS and activities of 2014 for God and His Kingdom - AND BINDING Satan in the name of JESUS.

 

Distirct Golf Tournament May 19

Spring is here and it will soon be time for the NC East District Wesleyan Church Golf Tournament. Tournament will be Monday, May 19, at Country Hills Golf Course, 5610 Hicone Road, Gibsonville, NC 27249. Country Hills has new greens to putt on this year, newly renovated champion Bermuda greens.

 

The tournament is for all district laypersons, ministers, and their guests. Cost stays the same, $40 per person and that includes cart, green fee, lunch, refreshments, incentives, and prizes. Play is Captain’s Choice. We have moved the lunch time up ½ hour to 11am and the shotgun start up a ½ hour to 12 noon.

Revival Services at Robbins First

Robbins First Wesleyan Church will have revival services April 27-30.  Evangelists will be Pastors Andrew and Kara Hurlburt.  Sunday services 11am and 6pm, Monday-Wednesday at 7pm.

Kids Fun Day At Victory Mountain Camp

May Kids  Fun Day at Victory Mountain Camp will be Saturday May 3, 2014.  Registration is from 9:30-10am.  Cost is $3 per person.  Morning rally will start at 10am with live worship from Foster St Wesleyan Church, and special guest performance from Faith Force ministry ( faithforce.com ).  We will be kicking off our Super Hero theme for kids camp this summer!  The rally will also include games and prizes including camp scholarships.  Bring your own picnic lunch to eat before heading out to enjoy all the camp has to offer.  You can go fishing, take a kayak or canoe ride, shoot a bow and arrow or bb gun, go on a hayride tour, play basketball or feed the barn animals.  Finish out the day at 2:30pm with an ice cream treat!! 

 

Come see all the new renovations that have taken place this spring at the camp including a new bathroom addition to the lodge, large wall mural, a brand new paint job and roof on the barn, and our newest Deep Woods Cabin in progress that will accommodate 40 campers!

Hertford Bagley Swamp to Dedicate New Worship Center

 

 

Bagley Swamp will be celebrating the opening of our new facility on Sunday, April 27 at 4:00 pm. The event will include a dedication service, followed by an open house. We would love for folks from the district to join us on this special day.

Revival Services at Tabor City Old Zion Wesleyan Church on April 21-24

Revival services will be held at Tabor City Old Zion Wesleyan Church on Monday through Thursday, April 21-24, at 7:00 p.m.  The guest speaker will be Rev. Buddy Seay, pastor of Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.

 

Special music will be provided each evening including Mission Valley Original Free Will Baptist group on Monday and Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church youth choir on Tuesday.  The Old Zion youth will provide special music on Wednesday, preceded by a pizza party for all youth at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

 

Pastor Billy Roy and the congregation invite everyone to attend these services.

Thomasville Mt. Zion's 6th Annual MZS 5K

April 26 at 9 am--east parking lot of the church.  We already have 70 entries!  Shirts this year will be in the 'orange' family of color. 

 

Here are some important things you need to know:

 

You do not have to be a 'professional' runner or walker to enter and enjoy the fun

Even if you don't want to participate--come join us for the fun and cheer on the participants.

 

Registrations will be accepted through 8:45 on April 26--the day of the race ($25 if you wait until morning of race to register).

The DEADLINE to register and get an event shirt is Sunday, April 20 at 5pm

Shirts and race numbers/packets can be picked up between 4:30 and 6 pm on April 25 in front of Bethany hall or between 8am and 8:45 at the east parking lot near the DJ tent on the morning of the race

 

If you would like to have your business name listed on the back of the shirt or the name of a family member who has been touched by cancer, please contact Lynn Tesh for information on how to do this.

 

We will be having a self-defense demonstration at 10am followed by door prizes, recognition of our survivors and announcement of race winners.  Plenty of water and snacks to refuel after the race.

Work Progressing this Week at Victory Mountain Camp

Prayer Request for Victory Mountain Camp

Please pray for the Mission Impossible Work Team and Victory Mountain Camp this weekend and next week. Mission Impossible Work Team will begin arriving at VMC today. They will be working through next week at the camp. You may remember Mission Impossible Work Team was at the camp a few years ago and donated 6,500 hours of labor at the camp. 

 

Mission Impossible Work Team is from Aurora Christian School, Aurora, Illinois  http://www.aurorachristian.org/   Each spring Aurora Christian School leads a Mission Impossible Work Team to a selected area of the United States to give a labor of love.  The team consist of 150 teens and adults from the school. Each student pays $275.00 to participate.

 

Plans for work at VMC are as follows:  1. Framing the new Deep Woods Large Cabin (Unsung Heroes Cabin) 2. Facelift on the camp barn 3. Two new handicap bathrooms for the lodge  4. Restaining Lakeview Cabins 5. Clearing brush on the grounds. 

 

NC East District Wesleyan Women are baking cookies by the dozen to bring to the camp for the workers.  If you would like to bake a dozen or so cookies and stop by at the camp and say hello this would be much appreciated. Most of all be in prayer for the work team and VMC camp leaders

Easter Musical at Thomasville Mt. Zion

Don’t miss Come See The Lamb, Sunday night April 13 at 7:00pm, a dramatic musical presentation of shepherds, a father and son,  who hear the angels annunciation of Jesus’ Birth and return to Jerusalem 33 years later to witness the crucifixion and resurrection. Through the course of the musical, those who raise the temple lambs for sacrifice realize that Jesus is The Perfect Lamb, permanently cleansing from sin.  Directed by Pastor Stephen Storey
