Denton Church Mission Trip to NYC

The Denton Wesleyan Church sent 38 people to Brooklyn, New York over the weekend of Nov. 21-23.  The team took coats, blankets, toiletries, scarves, gloves, hats, and other warm clothing to assist residents in the winter months.  The team also took hygiene packs, food and blankets to the homeless in a park in Manhattan.

DWC offers the same assistance to the Denton and South Davidson community through their CHAMP (Community Health And Mentoring Project) center.  The center is a 501c3 that provides food, clothes, children's and teen educational programs, and a community meal monthly.

The church and the CHAMP center have distributed over 500 bags of groceries, served over 1400 meals (and delivered over 300 more), provided 75 families with school supplies, provided hundreds of coats, blankets, and clothes, as well as helping several families with minor home repair needs.

Local Church News - Winston Salem El Aposento Alto

November 16 the Winston Salem El Aposento Alto church graduated 17 from their Leadership School. Congratulations to Pastors Tomas Manchego, Marina Manchego, and Amelia Manchgeo for their good work.  The El Aposento Alto Church is moving forward for God as they train leaders for kingdom work.  The following is an statement from Pastor Amelia Manchego about the graduation.

“My people perish for lack of knowledge”……Hosea 4:6

This bible truth has always been in our work as a church to prepare our congregation. We give thanks to the Lord, for letting us conclude the 7th   graduation ceremony for our “Leadership School”. It was 17 students that during the year were studying this course of “Leadership with purpose”. Thru these 7 years we could see that the person, the family and the church has been strengthening with God’s special touch thru this study.  The church in 2015 has the vision of “expanding the territory” we are developing a personal evangelical program.  Our “Christian Education School” will keep preparing new believers to be leaders to work for God.
